With the owner’s permission, the integration accesses home and room information, device identifiers, camera livestreams, camera and doorbell events, supported event snapshots or clips, and thermostat settings and sensor readings. The data supports device display, control, and household automations.Processing and storage
Google provides Nest data and authorization services. Google Cloud Pub/Sub carries device updates to Home Assistant. Home Assistant stores authorization credentials locally and processes the authorized data. Retention of history, media, backups, and additional copies depends on the installation’s settings.Access and sharing
OAuth publication does not publish camera feeds or other private device data. Access depends on the Home Assistant accounts, permissions, network access, and services configured by the owner. Automations that send data to another service are separate owner-configured uses.Control and removal
The owner can revoke access through Google Account connections or remove the Nest integration from Home Assistant. Revocation prevents future authorized access; it does not delete history, media, or backups already stored. Those copies are managed in the systems where they were saved.Contact
